About Me
Hi, I’m Marley (a.k.a The Nomads frame). I am an always-on-the-move travel photographer, with a lot to capture and a lot to say about the places I’ve visited. if i’m not sleeping I’m, i’m scrolling through Maps in search for my next adventure, and if I’m not planning my next trip… im on one!
Originally from sunny Los Angeles and now a longtime resident of not-so-sunny London, I’ve been lucky to soak up diverse cultures and experiences along the way. But let’s be real – as much as I love city life, there’s nothing quite like hitting the open road.
As far back as I can remember i’d be scrolling on google earth and dropping street view in the most random of places. I Remember my first cruise trip from new york to bahamas and im constantly reminded of my fascination with planes as a child (specifically the Airbus A380) everytime i find another plane model in a box under my bed, so safe to say i’ve grown up with the travel bug. i’ve always been as passionate as I am for adventuring as I am now. and the more I explore the more I want to explore more. I love to learn about the world, different people, different places and as weird as it is each experience and destination teaches me something about myself in return. in short: im always learning. And as a proud philomath, this has only increased my desire to see the world even more! As David mitchell said – “travel far enough you meet yourself”
As i truly believe that the furthest away from ‘home’ you can be the more you pick up things about yourself you never knew before. Its about getting out of your comfort zone, its about opening your mind to your new self and new surroundings.
My goal? To explore every corner of this beautiful planet and share the highs, lows, and everything in between with you. Whether it’s stumbling upon hidden gems or getting lost in the chaos of a bustling city, I hope my stories inspire you to seek out your own adventures.
I believe The world isn’t as scary as its made out to be, and the more you see for your own eyes the more you’ll understand that the one thing that unites us all (quite literally) is human connection. We connect with people around the world through curiosity and interest in their lives. Curiosity is the key to life-long learning, so get out there and Share your culture as you learn about others’ and spread knowledge, love, and smiles across the globe.
I am currently learning a lot about Buddhism, thanks to my great aunt—who converted a couple of decades ago and has since found a peaceful and happy way of life. I am not Buddhist, at least not yet, but I am fascinated by the tranquility and answers found in Buddhism, most of which I like to think I align with. Through learning about ancient Chinese Buddhism, I stumbled across a Buddha quote that simply reads: ‘It’s better to travel well than to arrive.’ We should value each step of the journey as much as reaching the destination. As humans, we’re always looking ahead, eager for the next big thing or adventure. But by putting so much significance and anticipation on the future, we tend to forget to enjoy the present. We miss out on being happy in the moment and appreciating the entire ride. I believe this quote is a deeper take on the more modern ‘It’s not the destination, but the journey that matters.’
MY STATS
In January 2023 I wrote my first (un-published) book called 'Made in Morocco'
‘Made in Morocco’ is almost like a self-reflective journal of my mother’s experience during her childhood, accompanied by general facts about the experience of Jews in Morocco. I felt inspired to make this book because I believe everyone deserves the right to connect with their homeland and know where they’re from. Unfortunately, my mum knew very little about her roots. So, I did the research for her. In April 2022, we visited Morocco for the second time since she left, and it was a great trip filled with exploration, learning, and sentiment. Along with the words, there are photos and moments I captured, mainly of my mum, during our few weeks in Morocco. Although it’s been requested, I don’t wish to publish this book. Right now, there are only two copies: one for me, and one for my mum.
